Photography Tips for Beginners

I love photography, and it has become one of my favorite activities. I have learned so much, and also learn some more every day. I have a Nikon Coolpix L830, but I am saving for a DSLR. Today, I will be telling you the 5 main things I have learned about photography.

1. Get closer.
This has probably improved my photography the most.

NOTE: I got a blurry background on this picture because I used Close-Up mode on my point and shoot. And this is NOT the same flower.
2. Rule of thirds.
This is very important in laying out your composition. Pretend there is an imaginary Tic-Tac-Toe on the image. Lay your main subject on those lines and intersections to make the image more appealing to the eye.
See how Genesis is on the left third of the picture? Of course, there are exceptions to this rule.

3. Edit your pictures.
I have a hard time following this rule, especially when I have a lot of pictures to edit. I don't always edit my pictures, but trust me, it will make such a difference. I recommend PicMonkey and iPiccy.
4. Take lots of pictures.
One important thing is to take lots of pictures. You are not in the old days any more where people still use film cameras and have to pay for film. The more pictures you take, the more chance you have of getting an awesome shot!
5. Practice and experiment.
This is what will get you good at photography! Now take all these tips and go get some pictures!
